Health and Computer Use
It is a known fact that excessive use of computers will pose some significant threats to a person’s health like severe headaches, back pains, muscle cramps, and the like. Thankfully, there are a few important procedures one can follow to avoid health issues. It is imperative to prevent conditions before it becomes a real problem. A computer user must check the height of the desk where the monitor will be mounted. It has to be properly placed on top of the desk in such a way that it will not hurt the eyes. One can have a go on various heights for desks to find out which one will beat the others.
One must choose a chair that offers utmost comfort and back support if he will be in front of a computer for hours every day. The height of the chair should be adjusted to suit the placement of the hands on the keyboard. It must not strain the user’s hands, arms or shoulders. The mouse, mouse pad and keyboard for the computer should be placed in the right height as well so as not to cause any pain or discomfort on the user. Similarly, devices that are often used like printer, scanner, copier, camera, etc., should be placed close by so the user will not get tired of standing up from his chair every once in a while. Aside from those things, one can have a bit of stretching exercising like bending the neck side by side, stretching the arms and shoulders, lower back and wrists. The user’s collar bones should be relaxed and not tensed or raised as this can make the back sore. One should also sit up straight while using the computer and avoid slouching.
