Avoiding Eyestrain When Using Computer

If you are one of the many individuals who spend several hours in front of the computer every day, then it is about time that you pay attention to your optical health. What could seem like a minor eyestrain may lead to a serious problem if left unaddressed. As such, here are tips on how you can protect your eyes before it is too late.

Position your screen in a manner that light does not repel and cause glare. It is also recommended that you turn the contrast up and adjust the brightness of your monitor according to what is convenient and comfortable for you. Aside from that, illuminating your work space well also helps a lot. Choose full-spectrum bulbs as they are typically gentle on the eyes. Be careful, however, not to put your light sources too close. Aside from the physical arrangement and other such factors, you must also make it a point to take 20-second breaks every once in a while by covering your eyes with your palms or moving away from the computer monitor.
